Sienna On The Square is part of the award winning Burnt Orange Restaurant Group. Located in Pittsburgh’s Market Square, Sienna is proud to have award winning, critically acclaimed Chef Matthew Porco as Executive Chef.
Creating Italian dishes in Market Square is a homecoming of sorts for Chef Porco. He began his cooking career at age of sixteen, kneading dough and making sauces in the kitchen of his family’s pizza shop. His father and uncle owned bars and restaurants in Market Square from the late 1970s thru the early 1980s where Matthew spent many weekends working with his family.
Growing up, Chef Sarah was always in the kitchen with her grandmothers. By high school, she was drawn to the science behind cooking and ready to turn it into a career. Chef Sarah graduated from the International Culinary School of the Art Institute in San Diego then moved back to Pittsburgh to work at local institution, Kaya. In 2010, she was introduced to Chef Matt at Mio Kitchen and Wine Bar who brought her on board to the Burnt Orange Restaurant Group. Sarah moved up through the ranks from Sous Chef at Sienna on the Square and Mezzo, to her now current role as Chef de Cuisine at Sienna On the Square. She counts Chef Matt and Anthony Castine, Chef de Cuisine at Mezzo, as her two biggest influences. Outside of work, she loves to be with my family and friends (especially eating) and is a huge Penguins fan. Sarah grew up in Lower Burrell and now lives in the North Hills.
